Twelve Labors

Hercules went to go seek help from the Great God Apollo. Apollo was the God of Healing, Music and Sun. Everyday he drove the Sun across the sky. Many other Gods believed that Apollo could see the future.
Apollo told Hercules, the only way he could cleanse his evilness away is by performing 12 labors.
For the 12 labors, he had to work under Eurystheus.
Apollo also told him that by performing these 12 labors, he will be immortal.

Labor 1 - The Nemean Lion
In the hills of Nemea, there was a lion that terrorized many people. He trapped himself in the Lion's cave, trying the kill the lion with his arrows. Hercules realized that the lion cannot be killed with arrows. He then attacked the lion and strangled it to death with his bare hands.

Labor 2 - The Hydra
Hercules traveled to Lerna to slay the nine headed poisonous snake, that guarded the Underworld. He chopped off the heads and had his Nephew torch them, so it can no longer grow.

Labor 3 - The Hind
The Hind is a sacred animal that is half female and deer, with the antlers made of gold. It took Hercules over a year to chase this incredibly fast creature. He eventually captured it with a secret net trap.

Labor 4 - The Boar
The Boar was a man eating creature that lived in Mt Erymanthus. Hercules attracted this creature with wine and food. Hercules frighten The Boar by chasing it around the mountains. Eventually he captured The Boar in a net and set to travel back to Eurystheus.

Labor 5 - The Augean Stables
Hercules was sent to clean King Augean's stables. Augean owned more cattle than anyone else. He was expected to finish in one day. Hercules had an idea to dig two trenches from different rivers, These two rives eventually came together and wiped out everything clean.

Labor 6 - The Stymphalian Birds
Hercules had to travel to the town Stymphalos and get rid a huge flock of birds. He got aid from Athena who gave him a rattle, this rattle will startle the birds, giving a chance to kill them.

Labor 7 - The Cretan Bull
Hercules was sent to bring back the Cretan Bull from Knossos. The Bull could apparently walk/run on water. This bull impregnated Minos's wife, making him no longer wanting the bull. Hercules then wrestled the bull and brought it back to his land.

Labor 8 - Mares Of Diomedes
Hercules was sent to capture human eating horses from Diomedes. These horses were on a strict diet because of Diomedes. The only way to capture them was to kill Diomedes. Hercules fought Diomedes, feeding him to the horses. He then brought them back to his land.

Labor 9 - Hippolyte's Belt
Hippolyte was a queen, she had a belt that was a symbol to her right to rule. The tension grew when Hera disguised as one of the peoples and spread rumors about Hercules. A big fight blew and Hippolyte was killed. Hercules then took the belt with him.

Labor 10 - Geryon's Cattle
Hercules was sent to steal cattle from a three headed, six legged monster. Hera tried preventing his success but he succeeded by killing Geryon and stealing the cattle.

Labor 11 - The Golden Apples
Hercules was sent to steal golden apples from Hera. He gained help from Prometheus and Atlas. He eventually defeated a great snake that guarded the apples. Hercules then returned the apples to where they belong, the god's garden.

Labor 12 - Cerberus
Hercules traveled to Hades to kidnap a three headed dog that guarded its gates. Hercules wrestled the dog and eventually won it over. He took the dog back to his land.
